EARLY DAYS

Alsted-Kasten Jeweler's began operation in Milwaukee in 1899, which specialized in outstanding quality jewelry and exceptional attention to detail and service. In 1936, William Schwanke Jewelers, formed a partnership with Alsted-Kasten to create Schwanke-Kasten Jewelers, as it is known today.




1950's - 1980's

Schwanke-Kasten Jewelers marked their golden anniversary by opening their "country store", in Whitefish Bay, WI; a village just north of Milwaukee. William Schwanke passed away in the 60's. whereby his wife. Mercedes took over, marking the beginning of rare, women-owned business at the time. Schwanke-Kasten Jewelers and Rolex began their partnership in the 50's.

1980's - 2020's

Malcom Dixon, Mercedes Schwanke's nephew took over the store in the 1980's but passed away unexpectedly leaving Schwanke-Kasten Jewelers in the hands of his wife, Patricia and their children, Tom, Patty, Bill, Brad and Jim. Tom Dixon became president around the turn of the decade, and became sole owner towards the end of 2019.




2020's AND BEYOND

Tom Dixon and his team at Schwanke-Kasten Jewelers are settled into their present location, 417 E. Silver Dr., Whitefish Bay, WI, roughly across the street from the original country store. In 2022, Schwanke-Kasten Jewelers has finished a complete remodeled, with the addition of an award-winning upstairs lounge. Tom's son, Charlie Dixon, joined the store and is running the day-to-day operations.
